Easter Egg-hunting 2005

Most kids anticipate this event with great hopes to fill in their baskets with every pastel eggs ready to be opened at no time. It is fun to watch while kids get ready, eyeballing the lawn, with baskets trembling and quietly planning their strategies. To give each child a fair crack at filling in their basket, some organizers create at least three areas like the one that we attended this easter: one for kids ages three and under, one for ages four to six, and one for ages seven and older. On this way, young children can find eggs without being mowed down, while older kids get a greater challenge. In just a matter of seconds after hitting their proper spots, all we could see are heat trails and scampering feet as every egg in the vicinity is plucked from its carefully chosen nest. Like Thanksgiving dinner or Christmas morning, the fun will be over way too soon and look forward again for the next year's event.

Easter is the demonstration
of God that life itself is
essentially spiritual and timeless.
