Scrapbooking 101: Introduction

Even before blogging had begun, I used to keep a personal diary to record special events, experiences, and observations through inner exploration of my mind and express my deepest self. That's why when I first started to blog around 2003, my first site using Xanga was entitled "Read My Mind... An Endless Journey Towards A Complete Me". Accustomed of writing my personal experiences thru diary, my first site recorded my daily grinds in a foreign land, missing my loved ones back home inspired me to record these experiences online in a hope that someday, they'll be able to read my thoughts and inspirations. For more than two years, my blogging evolved into a different perspective. It has transpired my ability to serve others in a simple way I had never imagined. From a journal, I was able to share other activities and interest that may be helpful one way or another. Soon I have realized that the hobby of weblogging that once had been a primary and personal pleasure had dramatically culminate me to write responsibly not only for my personal interest but for the greater good of those who visit my sites. Fortuitously, I've been receiving good feedback on my site stats including the searched terms made on my site from search engines like google, msn and yahoo. Everyday, I will always be grateful for you for taking time to read, print and re-read my articles. Maraming Salamat Po!(Thank You!)

Now you might ask, whats the connection between Blogging and Scrapbooking? My answer is very much alike in so many ways. While I write online to record personal views on a matter, scrapbooking records photos, journals, clippings and other mementos in a blank pages of a book widely known as a scrapbook. I am not scrapbook guru yet though I am willing to learn how it goes. Even when I was still single then, I used to record the names and dates of special events on my album. I was able to preserve important pictures during my childhood, High School and College Life. When I go back home for vacation, there's no way I would forget to check on these albums and reminisce the past. I was able to reserve the memories on my own little way that I call priceless. Things you couldn't trade to anyone because it is yours to keep and something you could share to anyone who is willing to see pieces of your life. Isn't that wonderful?

I have keen inclination to webdesigning. Inspired by the thought of their similarity, I decided to start anew on what I have kept all these years on my bookshelf, a scrapbook left unfinished. I rejoiced to the fact that Scrapbooking like any other hobby--webdesigning and photography, is supposed to be fun and even relaxing. Rejoice in the fact that this hobby will introduce me to another level of recording photos in a new and exciting way. Thanks to a blog neighbor for inspiration.

And lastly, did I mention that I am tired of buying magnetic-page album where pages and photos discolor and disintegrate more quickly than they would naturally? Now that I have shared my views on both, let me begin my new journey to the world of Scrapbooking:)

So long! next on Scrapbook 101: How do I get started?
