This was my second time visiting Dr. Taylor. Although her clinic is like half an hour away from us, I make it appoint to see her just to check how my thyroid is doing. On my previous check-up, she found me having hyperthyroidism. And with that, she asked me to stopped my throid pills, she suspected that Im taking too much of the pill that my thyroid can take thus having hormonal imbalance. She found me shaking a little bit the first time she diagnosed my hands, and some parts of the body as standard procedure in checking patients with thyroid problems.
This time, she looked at me and she told me that I look much better compared to my last check up. She was referring to symptoms related to having hyperthyroidism. After checking some stats, she asked me to continue not taking any thyroid pills while she monitors my TSH and thyroid level. She then instructed for another extraction of blood for lab tests just to see the difference and how am I doing as far as not taking pills is concerned. I believe in my own opinion, that I need that pill to at least regulate my thyroid hormones but Im thinking why should I still see her if I will not cooperate. So I'll see her again in four to five weeks. Im still observing my body though because I find it different these past few days like increase in palpitation and sudden irregular heartbeat. I still fear what will be the impact of these things to my baby, next week, Im planning to have my AFP test, its taken between 16 to 20 weeks, just to help identify high risk pregnancies and some types of birth defects. It is also done thru blood test. Dr. Taylor had given my Ob-gyn a copy of my recent check up and carbon copy of my lab test results, just she would know what is going on.
