23rd Week: Inside My Womb, Seatbelts and Healthy Diet

My baby continues to make regular jerky movements as he/she explores its body in the comfort of his/her little world-- his/her "living womb".  This week, we started to let him/her hear sound and music thru our old fisher price musical infant mobile we also used while my eldest was in my womb then.  After six years of hiding it in the cabinet, we were able to use it again for the second time and I can't believe it still working.  This time, a little tap here and there to let it start, hahaha.  We just point the small built in speaker on my belly and there you go, slumber away.  But my daughter has her own gadget that she just points towards my belly, a little bit louder and newer songs than what Im presently using. Both would helped my baby a lot.

Everyday, Im always on the move driving around to drop off and pick up my kid from her summer activities.  Wearing the seatbelt has been a discomfort for me.  Here are the tips from Pregnancy Weekly on how to ease the comfort of wearing it while keeping me and my baby safe.  I also got this clip on gadget placed on my seatbelt and it helps a lot -- it snuggles the front and lap belt and makes room for my abdomen.

If you wear your lap belt incorrectly (over the dome of your uterus), it can significantly increase pressure on your baby and may lead to fetal injury during an accident. However, it's important that you buckle up. So, here are some ways to ease your comfort while keeping you and your baby safe:

  • Place the lap belt below your abdomen, across your hips.

  • Lay the shoulder belt diagonally between your breasts.

  • Make sure that both the lap and shoulder restraints are as snug as possible without being uncomfortable.

  • You should always keep at least 10 inches between the airbag cover (steering wheel or dashboard) and your breastbone; however, you must also be able to maintain full control of your car at this distance. You may need to move and/or tilt your seat back to achieve this.

I've started to eat four to six servings of bread, cereal or rice a day!  I also love fruits like watermelon, strawberries, cantaloupe, banana and grapes.   Im beginning to go back in my usual habit of reading and cooking.  There are also stressful days but His assistance keeps me going and makes me stronger than ever.
