Alarmed that I might be late to see the sonographer who only stays there for half an hour each week, I arrived so early for my first scheduled transabdominal ultrasound. I reached the doctor's clinic with so much anticipation to see whats happening inside my growing belly and what the doctor has to say following the diagnosis. All along, I was thinking that its too early to predict the baby's gender right now and so it never crossed my mind not until the sonographer asked me before I lie down to bed whether I'd like to find out whether its a boy or girl! Waiting for several months, I thought this is the best opportunity to finally unveil whats between my baby's legs. I'm pretty confident when I answered him yes, probably, my mindset is geared towards having a boy.
After few minutes of checking the screen for the status of the uterus, the baby and the placenta, he turned the screen on my side to see how the fetus is doing. First, he showed me (1)the head and face toward me, (2)the spine, and finally (3)the legs and the genital. See pictures below respectively.
The next thing that you are about to see is a v i d e o that captured my first transabdominal ultrasound today, June 7th. The sonographer is agreeably comic and extremely hilarious causing a perplex amusement on my part. Pardon me from my laughter to melancholic voice as the sonographer showed me the genital area. Im totally speechless not until I saw my eldest several hours later which brings me to reality that Im still blessed and its definitely not my fault! as the sonographer also once told me, hehehe. Bribe me more!
I'll be seeing my Ob-gyn next month for my AFP test result and monthly check up. The ultrasound also showed that my placenta is okay and Im not having twins. I gained 3 pounds since my last check up, my BP is fine 118/60. She asked me if I'd asked the gender to the sonographer and I said yes, she told me that he'd been with her for 21 years and he rarely failed on his gender diagnosis. If he does, she told me that he'll surely treat the whole family and the doctor out. I wish it would happen, lol. *fingers crossed*
Hi Mela! I really am crossing my fingers that it will be a baby boy! But if it turned out be a girl, ok din yun! As long as the baby is healthy, you should be happy and thankful. Not everyone is blessed with a baby so consider yourself lucky. Tsaka meron pa naman next time, keep on trying til you get a baby boy…hehehe….
ReplyDeleteHi irene! Yeah, what you said is true, Im still blessed and very lucky to have kids like Denyse who is so charming and sweet and also, this baby in my womb who I consider a miracle as well. I believe God has every reason for everything, yeah probably if its a girl then who knows, the next one might be a boy… but this time, lets keep our fingers crossed, heheheh:) thank you friend, loveyah! ~mela
Mela dear don't feel bad. Just always remember, having a baby is a blessing from God. Let's just keep our fingers cross…. there might be an angle that doesn’t really show up clearly on the said video…. You'll never know? There are instances that the doctor was saying that this will be the sex of your baby but then again they just got confirm it until the last period of your pregnancy… keeps smiling…..
ReplyDeleteJust keep in mind that having a baby is such a wonderful gift….. And be thankful for every blessing that God had given you…. Stay happy sis…..and take care always…..
Hi Cai! Thank you for your kind words friend! You're right, chances are, the sonographer might have given a wrong diagnosis, anyone is bound to some errors and whatever the sex of the baby, we're still ready to embrace the truth because that is God-given and the greatest gift a woman and a couple could get. Its kinda funny that after few days, I already feel excited to see another girl in the family and how she'd look like… I bet she's also pretty like Denyse, soon she'll be sharing her dolls and toys, her room and some clothes, hehehe. I truly feel wonderful! Thanks again sis and you also take care of yourself… God bless…loveyah! ~mela
Mela its amazing to see the ultrasound pics.., the only thing that sometimes its hard for them to tell the gender is if they couldnt get a good shot of the baby inside the womb but in your case the sonographer did a good job, you could almost see the "clit" ( i suppose…) Anyway its gonna be pretty!..
ReplyDeleteHi Elna! That shot is from behind and Im quite puzzled by the difference between female and male gender looking at that side from the bottom especially the fetus' moving. If you'll take a closer look at the video, you'll be more puzzled thats why were kinda confused and keeping our fingers crossed that the sonographer could have mistakenly identify it as a girl coz the shot really looks like there's nothing sticking out but we saw something sticking up in front at the video… whatever it is, I also bet it'll gonna be pretty, hehehe… thank you sis for your comment, I appreciate you stopping by… love you friend! God bless… ~mela
Kudos Mela! This is really a cool site. Anyway, just keep on telling yourself that you're carrying a healthy baby and that's what matters most. You are so blessed. Imagine you already have a smart and beautiful Denyse with you, and here you are getting another one? Looks like you have a clout in heaven to receive all these blessings. Come on! We're cheering for this baby. Like Denyse, I'm sure this is also a special one. Whether a boy or a girl, this is the right one for you, given at a perfect time.
ReplyDeleteThank you Badette! I'm glad you stopped by:) You know what, pagbalik-baliktarin man ang mundo, walang papalit seguro sa swerte ng pagkakaroon na anak katulad ni denyse at syempre, pagkakaroon nya ng kapatid, so for that I am so thankful and grateful. No amount of words can't express how happy I am to be a mom of these kids, hopefully everything will turn out fine– healthy and bouncing regardless of its gender:) Thanks friend, see you soon! loveyah! ~mela
